Who We Are

The Libertarian Party of Los Angeles County (aka LPLAC) is the L.A. County affiliate of the California Libertarian Party, which is an affiliate of the national Libertarian Party.

Libertarians advocate civil liberties, economic free enterprise, and foreign non-intervention. We are socially tolerant and fiscally responsible.

Perhaps you're already a libertarian. Take the quiz.

Mission Statement

LPLAC promotes libertarian activism throughout L.A. County. We do it through our newsletter, website, supper clubs, business meetings, databases, and other resources.

Local Supper Clubs

Because L.A. County is so big, LPLAC is divided into eight geographical Regions. Most of these Regions sponsor monthly supper clubs.

Supper clubs are usually held at a family restaurant (Dinah's, Denny's, Ihop), and feature a guest speaker who addresses some political or cultural topic.

Anyone can show up at these supper clubs, no ticket or reservation required. It makes for an intellectually stimulating evening and a socially stimulating way to learn more about libertarians.

Below are LPLAC's Eight Regions. Check out their websites for more information about their supper clubs and other political activism in your local area (you can attend any and all of them, regardless of where you live):

* San Fernando Valley (61)
* Westside L.A. (62)
* Pasadena (63)
* South Bay (66)
* San Gabriel Valley (67)
* Antelope Valley (68)

More Supper Clubs

In addition to regional supper clubs, libertarians also host several monthly social & dining events:

* Pub Club

Pub Club meets on the 3rd Friday of every month at the Amazon Bar & Grill, 14649 Ventura Blvd, (between Cedros Ave and Cedros Ave -- sic), Sherman Oaks, CA 91403.

Full bar, good menu, great service. No agenda, just socializing with fun-loving libertarians! From 7 p.m. until midnight, give or take.

* Sundowners Club

The Sundowners Club meets every first Friday, at Brits Pub, 1770 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena. The nearest exit from the 210 freeway is Hill/Corson.

From 7 p.m. until closing. Arrive anytime, leave anytime. No agenda, no speakers, just libations and good conversation with your fellow libertarians.

* Karl Hess Club

The Karl Hess Club meets on the 3rd Monday of every month at Billingsley's Restaurant, 11326 West Pico Blvd. That's in the Sawtelle area of West L.A., just west of the 405 freeway. Details at the Karl Hess Club website.
