Can't be fixed
Your Dec. 1 editorial "Tarnished golden years" certainly shows what a dismal failure the Social Security system is. Why then do you propose reforming it? Do you really think Congress will get it right next time? The only sensible thing to do with such a fiasco is to abolish it, as Libertarians would do, and give us back our money. Some simple calculations show that, with conservative investment of that money, anyone could be getting a retirement income at least four times more than what Social Security pays.-- Bradley Bobbs, Granada Hills
