Can We Sue?

If it should come to pass that I get killed trying to defend myself because I couldn’t get my trigger-locked, safety tested, personalized smart gun from my state approved gun-safe in time, can my family sue the violence policy center and Handgun Control Inc. for damages because of the laws they had created using the tort system? I didn’t think so.
